Organized Around Our Collective Grid Modernization Outcomes

Radical changes in energy sources, distribution systems and usage are surging through the electrical infrastructure of the region. To help all stakeholders move forward on modernizing our regional grid, Grid Forward   hosted GridFWD 2019, an innovative collaborative event at Benaroya Hall in Seattle. Leaders from regional and national utilities, solution providers, regulatory agencies, governments, labs and other stakeholders came together to drive innovation for a reliable, resilient, affordable and low-carbon regional energy system.

GridFWD 2019 took place in the heart of Seattle. The event comprised three interwoven themes that explore grid modernization across multiple dimensions:

  • Modernization Best Practices in techniques and technology;
  • Culture of Innovation, exploring the creation of an environment that welcomes and accelerates new ways of working; and
  • Markets & Models, delving into regulatory and business frameworks that unleash the promise of new technologies and organizations.

GridFWD 2019 brought though leaders from across the region and across North America for two intense days of keynotes, sessions and working groups. Plus, the day before, attendees had the option to attend high-value workshops and grid modernization tours around Seattle.
